Taking the beginning slower to let students really figure out what they want to dedicate time to rather than just picking something to have a topic chosen will be a big help.

The struggle of freedom seems to be a common thread among people doing Genius Hour. Students are unsure what to do with themselves after spending so much time figuring out the right answer. I'm looking forward to seeing what your students decide to try since they'll have more time to explore before settling in. Keep it up and keep sharing! I'm looking forward to learning from your experiences.Amy Reverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04126574465803755406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5445903935524566087.post-40940213980117796422016-09-03T13:51:58.103-07:002016-09-03T13:51:58.103-07:00Good for you! I have found that it helped to build a more compassionate community of learners. They were more wiling to open up to me with their struggles which helped the process quite a bit.Susie Lavalleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06877653631503325220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5445903935524566087.post-90074682602182330902016-09-02T05:43:15.273-07:002016-09-02T05:43:15.273-07:00Easier class? I'm not entirely sure what we are going to explore either - it depends on what the kids come up with!Aubrey Yehhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06030661319290933486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5445903935524566087.post-41134726464532974432016-09-01T19:37:43.868-07:002016-09-01T19:37:43.868-07:00I felt "WOW!" after reading this.
